There is something disconcerting
about holding a conversation while a life size
blond ventriloquist’s dummy, wearing a red
leather jacket, eyeballs you from the reflections
of a folding mirror. Bertie Pearce, magician and
stand-up comedian is oblivious to anything eccentric
about his surroundings as he perches on a stool,
above an impressive panoply of shiny red boxes
and, surprisingly, life-jackets... |

If Derek and Martha Hill were alive today they
would be proud of their grandson Bertie Pearce,
who is making a big name for himself in the world
